The spirit of plants by Benoît Fournier
I present here a work that is part of the work Nipei Yuxii (The spirit of plants, in the Yawanawá language). I reveal the indigenous faces of the Yawanawa people (Acre) in the leaves of plants collected in the rainforest, it is the pigments of the leaves that reveal, thanks to sunlight, the faces of the people of the Amazon rainforest. The printing process is natural, and here man is a natural element integrated in the primordial cycle of the forest. The idea is to create a subjective memory of the place and its inhabitants, poetically, and give voice to the relationships between people and nature.
